What is collected

• If you ask AI Abe a question: the question, the answer, the time, and a random identifier stored in your browser. This happens whether or not you create an account.
• If you search or filter the writings: the search words and topic you chose.
• If you create a free account: your first name, last name, email, an optional mobile number, and whether you want occasional updates about AI Abe.
• If you request a conversation: your name, email and your answers to the form questions. They are sent to me by email.
• Page visits: which pages were opened and which entries were read.

Where it is stored and who else handles it

• Conversations, searches, account details and page visits are stored in a database run for this site by a service provider.
• AI Abe's answers are written by an AI language model. Your question and passages from the published writings are sent to that model to produce an answer. The model and who runs it may change over time, including moving to models run on our own servers.
• The request form is delivered by a form service.
• The site is run by a hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs.
• To count free questions per day, the server keeps a count against your browser identifier and a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address. The address itself is not stored.
• These providers can change as the site grows. When they do, this page will be updated.

How it is used

To answer you, to count the free daily questions, to reply to your request, and to improve AI Abe. I read conversations to improve it. I do not sell your information.

What AI Abe is

AI Abe is based on the writings published on this site. It is not me live, and it can be wrong. Please do not share anything in a question that you would not want stored.

Your choices

• To see, correct or delete what is stored about you, email info@abenewmeyer.com from the address you used. Include the email on your account if you made one.
• To stop updates, reply to any email asking to be removed.
• Clearing your browser's site data removes the identifier from your browser. It does not remove what is already stored on the server, so email me for that.

If this changes, the date at the top changes.
