Flexibility
My morning routine has remained unchanged for several years. I usually do the same things each morning, in the same order. Not to an obsessive, compulsive degree but definitely in the neighborhood. My routine varies somewhat when Ronnie visits. Today it’ll change a bit more as I’m doing an abridged version since it’s a celebratory milestone for Tonio.
Today I get to meet with him and a few other friends to participate in a mild celebration. Part of the reason for writing this is to show that being flexible is one of the key elements for serenity. Things may not always go the way that I’d like but I must remain willing to adapt and move along with circumstances, no matter what the occasion.
Today, Wednesday, March 11, 2020, I am grateful that:
Ronnie is here. I have spent a bunch of time alone and I’m glad I have someone I actually enjoy spending time with. What’s better, she enjoys spending time with me too.
My attitude has remained positive. I feel upbeat most times but the old lurking thought of not being good enough still rears its ugly head. During those times, it’s this list at the beginning of the day plus my faith in Him that submerges its ugly head back beneath the surface.
Disagreements don’t necessarily mean the dissolution of friendships. Ronnie is upset with me at the moment but it doesn’t mean we aren’t still together. Some behavior is unacceptable in the opinion of others but I don’t have to end relationships based on disagreements.
Are you flexible enough to change your routine?
How do you resolve disagreements?
How do you keep positive/upbeat/uplifted?
Be Great. Be Grateful!!!
