Almost Half Way Through

By Abe Newmeyer, May 1, 2023

Relationships & OthersProgress & Getting Better

It’s the beginning of May and the the year is getting close to halfway finished. I’m curious how many people abandoned their New Year’s Resolutions. I’m curious as to how many people stop. How many will stick to it when it gets tough? It’s about 90% from what the data shows. Only about ten percent of people have exceptional success. Most yield. Most can’t stay focused long enough to see things to completion. Most just give up. I don’t and I haven’t yet.

It’s tough living here. It’s exceedingly uncomfortable. It’s something I’d like to complete, but I haven’t yet. I’m doing something I haven’t done before. I’m seeing it through to the end. I am staying until it’s done. I don’t want to. I would rather stop. I would like to do what I’ve done in the past, but I can not. I know now something I didn’t know before. I know now that should I quit, the lessons I’m meant to learn will be lost. The progress I’ve made will be lost. The desire will be extinguished and I’ll have to light it again in another endeavor. That’s a path I don’t wish to traverse.

I’ll stay the course. I have a choice. It’s simply not as desirable as what I’m currently doing.

Today, Monday, May 1, 2023, I am grateful that:
