Talk Less, Say More
Part of the sales training I've completed stresses they importance if building rapport. The ability to connect with others, usually strangers, by identifying common areas of interests.
It's great for business, but not necessarily as a way of life. I'm at a stage in my development when using fewer words is not important. When listening is the better attribute.
The ability to connect with others is great, but parsing my words and asking intelligent, probing, and thought provoking questions is best, at this stage.
So I'll continue to exercise discipline in Socratic questioning. I'll speak less, but say more. Hopefully, it'll facilitate me being more impactful.
Today, Thursday, June 2, 2022, I am grateful that:
I got a chance to share some information with Sam this morning. The call disrupted my typical routine but I was happy to help.
I was able to learn more about a new tool I've acquired. I hate the learning curve, but I'm happy when I can leverage the experience of others to flatten that curve.
I'm gaining some traction. My efforts are beginning to manifest. Just have to keep going in the right direction.
Do you think before you speak?
Are you able to deliver your message succinctly?
How could you improve?
Be Great. Be Grateful!!!
